For many of us, words like meditation, vipassana, mindfulness are familiar but this word ‘satvaavajay chikitsa’ is totally out of our dictionary… right? We all know that Ayurved has described 3 doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) 7 Dhatus, and 3 Gunas i.e, Satva, Raja, and Tama.
Satva guna is the best quality and one should strive hard to achieve it. Satva is the balanced state of everything which brings us to normalcy.
We assume to achieve it with the help of our –
Diet – that our diet should be satvik
Activities – exercise, disciplined routine, etc.
But both of these efforts are on the physical level only. On the other hand, Ayurveda always asserts the involvement of body and mind in each and everything. The mind controls our emotions regarding diet and daily routine. It is this mind only who distracts us from being organized or disciplined and behave ethically.
Therefore Ayurved explains us and advises us to have control over our mind which as a result will bring us to a satvik state leading to a balanced state of mind.
This means the mind is only responsible for our bliss or agony, liberation or slavery. Hence don’t be a slave of your mind.
Instead… *Mind your mind!*
If this control over our mind is lost it results in an imbalance between these 3 Gunas and lands us in a diseased state.
Satvavajay chikitsa is a unique ayurvedic approach that helps us understand this mind-body connection, achieve a balanced state of mind, and control it as well. It helps us win over Raja and Tama Gunas and live a healthy, happy, and satisfying life!
